Connect and disconnect your UMcard or personal card

In order to print on a Canon printer, students and staff members need to connect the UMcard to their account once.

Guest users don't have a UMcard. As a guest you can connect another chip card, such as the public transport pass. You can connect one personal card to your account.

1. Put your card on the card reader and wait until you hear a beep.
   
   
   
   
2. The Canon printer indicates that the card is unknown.

3. Make a choice: are you a student, employee or guest user?

   Students and staff: 
   - Tap [Students & Staff]. 

    
   
   - Enter your UM username and password.

   

   Guest users: 
   - Tap [Guests].

    

   - Enter the pin code you received by e-mail. (Request a PIN)
   
   
   
   

4. Tap [Login].
   
   
5. Your card is now connected and can be used to log in at one of the Canon printers. 
   
   
6. Tap [Log out] or put your card on the card reader until you hear a beep tone.
   Important: When you forget to log out, other persons can print your jobs and read the contents. For safety reasons, you will be logged out automatically after 9 minutes.

Disconnect

If you have lost your card or no longer want to use it for printing, you can disconnect it in the print portal.

1. Go to: print.maastrichtuniversity.nl
2. Log in with your UM username and password.
3. Press the  button.
4. Click on [Cards].
5. Click [Disconnect cards].
6. Click on [Log out].
