Install the default printer driver on a Mac OS X system

The driver for the default UMPrinter is installed on UM computers and laptops that have a Windows operating system. Follow this instruction if you want to install the default driver on a Mac OS X system (version 10.11 and higher).

1. Download the file.
   
   
2. Save the file in a folder that is available to all users of the Mac system.
   Tip: Use the shared folder: Macintosh HD:Users:Shared.
   
   
3. Click Apple menu→ System Preferences → [Printers & Scanners].
   
   
   
   
4. Click the plus-button (+) to add the new printer.
   
   
    
5. Click the [IP] tab.
   
   
6. Enter in the [Address] field: <username>@um-vm0112.unimaas.nl
   Replace <username> with your personal user name on the UM network.
   For example: [e-mail]
   
   
7. Select in the [Protocol] field: [Line Printer Daemon - LPD].
   
8. Select in the [Queue] field: [UM_Printer_macOS]
   
9. Enter in the [Name] field: UM_Printer_macOS
   
10. Select in the [Location] field: [UM]
11. Select in the [Use] field: [Other]
    
    
    
    
12. Browse to the file you have downloaded and click [Open].
    
13. Click [Add].
14. Click [Continue] if the following message appears.
    
    
    
    
15. Set the printer settings as follows. Then click [OK].
    
    
    
    
16. Set the printer as the default printer: control-click the new printer and select [Set as default Printer].
    
    
17. You can now delete the .ppd file.
